Vlogger Alin Decean on stage Romanians have talent – News from Mures, News Targu Mures

Vlogging is becoming more and more popular. More and more people are turning to this form of content creation, but few manage to have an audience of more than 200,000 subscribers. Consistent and intuitive, Alin Decean succeeded. He is from Luduș, he is 21 years old and he creates video materials that he posts online, on Tiktok, Youtube and Facebook. He studies at the “George Emil Palade” University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology in Târgu Mureș and recently proved that he is the best at the International Festival of French-Speaking Students in Bucharest.

You are the winner of the International Festival of French-Speaking Students in Bucharest. Tell me about it, when it took place and what you introduced yourself with?

The festival took place between 10 and 15 July 2022. More than 100 participants from 20 Eastern European countries showed up. The theme of the festival was the concept of “youth”. So, there were sports competitions, dance, photography, music and media workshops, audio content creation, video diaries. I signed up for Media and Dance as two fields could be chosen. On the last day was the Gala of the festival, where we received 1st place in media content and 2nd place in dance.

Can we see your moment?

And here is the surprise moment

How are you performing as a vlogger? Who inspires you?

We started 5 years ago, and so far we have collected over 200,000 subscribers, most of them on Tiktok (155,000) and Youtube.

I post short documentaries, where I talk about different curiosities from Romania or even from all over the world or debate certain myths. People appreciate them and I think that in a time when misinformation and negativism are everywhere…it’s good to have a little positivity and something…educational. There are over 300 videos posted. The type of content I post has changed over time. From comic clips, where my family and friends inspired me, I moved to a serious theme. I am usually inspired by great personalities like Mihai Eminescu, Marilyn Monroe and Michael Jackson.

Where did you learn to dance?

As funny as it sounds, at home in front of the mirror. Starting in 2020… and I wasn’t hoping to get to any festival or contest, I was just doing it for fun…

You participated in Romanians have talent, last year, tell me how it was? What memories are you left with?

It is an unforgettable experience. First of all, we are talking about the biggest and most popular scene in Romania… I remember the people there very well. Rock guitarists, dancers, acrobats, singers, craftsmen, all kinds of people, each with their own life story. When we see them on TV, we get goosebumps, but face to face is even more beautiful. I remember again that I was stressed because I was going alone by train to Bucharest for the first time, but I still managed.

What other passions do you have?

Besides the vlog, it would be the French language, and thanks to all the teachers I had, this passion is still alive since the 3rd grade. I am also an amateur astronomer, I often make observations in the sky with a telescope, binoculars, I also wrote a book with all the observations made (which you can find in the Play Store – “Astronomy and Mysteries of the Universe”). I also own a virtual science club on Facebook, with 50,000 members: Mysteries of the Universe.

Do you have a motto?

There would be two…

“If you want the world to be a better place, look at yourself and make the change” – Michael Jackson.

“Today be better than yesterday and weaker than tomorrow” – Daniel Zărnescu.

Is there something you don’t know how to do?

There are many things that we humans do not know how to do. But we can learn, with will.

For example, I can’t fly a helicopter, I can’t drive a car yet (not having a license), I couldn’t do an operation (not being a doctor), but if I learn how, I sure can.

Throughout our life we learn what to do, how to do, how to think, how to behave. We just have to want and remember that we are not perfect, never compare ourselves to anyone else, but only to ourselves.
