UNESCO Organizing Committee for the Historical Center of Sighișoara – Mures News, Targu Mures News

The county councilors approved on Thursday, August 25, during an ordinary working meeting, the establishment of the UNESCO Organizing Committee for the historical monument in Mureș County, entered in the World Heritage List – Sighișoara Historical Center.

“By the Decision of the Mureș County Council no. April 60/14, 2022, the Regulation on the organization and operation of the UNESCO Organizing Committee was approved for the historical monument in Mureș County, listed in the World Heritage List, the Historic Center of Sighișoara – code 902-1999, and the Methodology for appointing representatives of the local community in the UNESCO Organizing Committee. In accordance with the provisions of Annex no. 1 and no. 2 to the Decision of the Mureș County Council no. April 60/14, 2022, the procedures for the prior selection of the coordinator of the historical monument were completed, as well as that of the public consultation with a view to appointing local community representatives in the UNESCO Organizing Committee for the historic monument Centrul Istoric Sighișoara”, stated Kovács Mihály-Levente, vice president of the Mureș County Council.

Composition of the Committee:

– Ruxandra Balaci – coordinator of the UNESCO Organizing Committee;

– arch. Irina-Mihaela Tătăranu, on behalf of the Municipality of Sighisoara, representative of the owners or holders of other real rights over the historical monument;

– high priest Dr. Hans-Bruno Frohlich, on behalf of the Evangelical Parish CA Sighisoara, representative of the owners or holders of other real rights over the historical monument;

– Mihai Șerengheu, from the Visit Sighișoara Tourist Association, representative of the owners or holders of other real rights over the historical monument;

– major Cristian Pop – representative of the Inspectorate for Emergency Situations “Horea”;

– police inspector Szakacs Emanuel – representative of the Mureș County Police Inspectorate;

– Ovidiu Dumitru Mălăncrăvean – representative of the local community, appointed by the community during the public consultation;

– Aranka Nicoleta Peter, from the Association for Open Education Sighișoara, representative of the local community, appointed by the community during the public consultation;

– Michaela Turk, from the Mihai Eminescu Trust Sighisoara Foundation, representative of the local community, appointed by the community during the public consultation;

– arch. Mădălina Sonea, representative of the Ministry of Culture;

– arch. Lucian-George Dosinescu, alternate member of the representative of the Ministry of Culture;

– Dr. Steliana Cojocariu – the representative of the specialized body of the central public administration in the field of tourism;

– Kover Orsolya Maria – the representative of the specialized body of the central public administration in the field of territorial development and urban planning;

– architect Adina Gabriela Popescu – chief architect of Mureș County;

– Nicolae Băciuț – representative of the Mureș County Directorate for Culture, Cults and National Cultural Heritage;

– Camelia-Raluca Grama – the scientific officer, appointed by the National Heritage Institute, specialist, certified by the Ministry of Culture, who ensures the methodological coordination of the COU activity;

– Alexandru Mexi, alternate member of the scientific officer, appointed by the National Institute of Heritage, specialist, certified by the Ministry of Culture, who ensures the methodological coordination of the COU activity;

– Nicolae Țițeiu – representative of the Sighisoara Local Council;

– Ioan Fedor Pascu – the representative of the specialized department within the Sighisoara City Hall;

– arch. Klaus Birthler, head of landscape technical works at Sapientia University – representative of the university institution;

– Dr. Romeo-Constantin Gheorghiță, lecturer, National University of Arts Bucharest – representative of the university institution;

– Dr. Eng. Kirizsan Imola, head of works Cluj Technical University – representative of the university institution;

– Panczel Szilamer Peter – representative of the Mureș County Museum;
