Traffic restrictions on the Bucovăț bridge » News from Craiova and Oltenia

Traffic on the bridge over the Jiu river, from the entrance to Bucovăț town, Dolj county, will be completely stopped on Thursday, September 1, and Saturday, September 3, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., as a result of the works rehabilitation carried out by the constructor responsible for the modernization of the first section of the county road (DJ) 552 Craiova – Cetate.

According to the Dolj County Council, the measures are ordered as a result of carrying out works on the resistance structure of the bridge, it being necessary to change some damaged metal elements (beams, diagonals, etc.)

Drivers have a number of alternative routes available. Thus, for vehicles weighing between 3.5 and 7.5 tons, 2 bypass options have been established:

With a total value of 1,150,000 euros, including VAT, the rehabilitation works of the bridge over the Jiu river in the town of Bucovăț are being carried out by the association of companies Domarcons SRL – Erpia SA, being part of a larger project of approximately 50 million of euros, financed from European funds within the Regional Operational Program 2014 – 2020, which aims to modernize DJ 552 Craiova – Cetate.
