The TIFF Unlimited caravan arrives in Timișoara | TIMPOLIS

In Timișoara, a marathon of previews, multi-awarded films and a dinner-concert is starting as part of the 13th edition of the TIFF Unlimited Caravan. Between July 26 and 31, moviegoers will be able to enjoy, outdoors, at the Capitol Summer Garden and indoors, at Cinema Victoria, the newest and most popular films of the year and will be able to meet established Romanian artists.

One of the most anticipated moments in the program, the organizers announce, will take place on Friday, July 29, from 9:30 p.m., at the Banat Philharmonic, when the dinner-concert takes place Malombra, a classic of the silent film era. It will be designed designed in live accompaniment to the music made especially for it by Simona Strungaru, film music orchestrator and composer, permanent conductor of the Bucharest Jazz Orchestra and the SonoMani contemporary music ensemble. The project premiered at the La Rochelle Film Cinema International Film Festival and TIFF in 2021.

The gothic atmosphere, the amazing landscapes and the acting of the protagonists, of which I remember Lyda Borelli (Marina di Malombra) and Amleto Novelli (Corrado Silla), were the sources of inspiration for the original music I composed for the TIFF invitation in 2021 and which I have the pleasure to stage again in Timișoara“, says Simona Strungaru.
