Without any evidence, the Kremlin accuses Britain of “terrorism” for the explosions in late September that destroyed parts of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
On the other hand, Ukraine launched a massive drone attack on Russian warships in the Crimean port city of Sevastopol.
Moscow admits that one ship was damaged, but claims that the ships targeted in the attack were involved in the international agreement to resume grain exports from Ukrainian ports. It therefore suspends its participation in this agreement.
The Ukrainians attacked Russian ships in the port of Sevastopol with dronesImages have appeared on social networks that appear to have captured the moment of the Ukrainian drone attack on Russian warships in the port of Sevastopol. The largest city in Crimea, annexed in 2014, is also where the Russian Black Sea Fleet is stationed.
In southern Ukraine, the ground is being prepared for a major battle for the city of Kherson, which would open a real gateway to Crimea.
Soldier: “If we reach the city of Kherson we will cut off its sources of supply and cut off the Crimea from the sea. Crimea is an important strategic objective for Putin“.
Kherson is the first major city that the Russians managed to capture since the beginning of the invasion. The Ukrainians want it back, but the occupying forces are preparing to repel the expected Ukrainian counter-offensive by strengthening their defenses on the west bank of the Dnieper.
Soldier: “In Kherson, the (Russian) attacks are intensifying, but what can we do? We are ready to give our lives for our country“.
The locals of Kherson were given two days to evacuate to the western bank of the Dnieper, claims the Southern Military Command of Ukraine. Otherwise, they were warned that they would be forced to leave their homes and be taken to Crimea.
Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine: “Russia makes the Kherson region an uncivilized zone without the most basic social services. Now Russia is trying to make Kherson Oblast simply an exclusion zone“.
Russia is preparing to attack Ukraine. 40,000 soldiers, reservists and barely mobilized, were regrouped in the Kherson areaAccording to the Ukrainian general who heads the intelligence services in Kyiv, Russia has regrouped in the Kherson area 40,000 soldiers, including the best trained and most capable units, but also many newly mobilized reservists were taken there.
Meanwhile, Russian forces are making no significant progress around the key city of Bakhmut, in the Donetsk region or anywhere else along the front lines, according to the latest analysis by the Institute for the Study of War. But Russia is exaggerating the progress in the Bahmut area, probably to improve morale among the troops that invaded Ukraine, but Bahmut, as well as the other town on the defense line, Siversk, are bombarded incessantly.
In Moscow, during one of the well-known skits, Serghei Shoigu reported to Putin “the end of the partial mobilization,” a move that has drawn protests, fueled tensions, and sent tens of thousands of Russians fleeing the country.
Sergei Shoigu, Russian Minister of Defense: “The mission you set for us, of 300,000 reservists, has been accomplished. We are not planning any additional mobilizations. After the completion of the training, 82,000 recruits were sent to the areas of the special military operation“.
Little thanked them for “patriotism“.
On the other hand, Moscow claims, without evidence, that people from a British naval unit were the ones who blew up the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines on September 26.
Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense: “According to available information, representatives of this unit of the British Navy took part in the planning, supply and implementation of a terrorist attack in the Baltic Sea on September 26 this year, blowing up the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines“.
“Strong explosions”, as the Danish police report stated, destroyed a 50-meter section of the submarine pipelines through which gas was transported from Russia to Europe. German, Swedish and Danish authorities have investigated this act of sabotage, but it is still not known who or what caused the explosions.
