Prosecutors opened criminal cases in rem for rape and sexual intercourse with a minor after the alleged acts with high prelates

The General Prosecutor’s Office announced that it opened two criminal cases – in rem, that is, regarding the facts – for sexual intercourse with a minor and for rape, in the latest scandal involving BOR.

Meanwhile, the story takes on an unexpected dimension. Several high prelates of the Romanian Orthodox Church are accused of homosexual relations and even rape by a former graduate of the Iasi Seminary.

Those concerned claim that everything is an invention and that the said person is trying to take revenge after being expelled from the Faculty of Theology.

Cristi Calin claims that he decided to expose the inappropriate behavior of some High Priests because in 2013 he was expelled after allegedly refusing the advances of an abbot. Two months ago, he allegedly became friends with PSD deputy Aurel Balasoiu, who also graduated in theology.

Cristi Călin, former monk: “Between me and this deputy Balasoiu, a relationship of trust and a friendship was forged to the point of excess and he sent me, I made an inventory like that, I think over a thousand pictures and messages. He deleted. He had a WhatsApp group where they were talking several, and beep Calinic and beep Varsanufie, and he was telling me things that I record.”

The man claims that the same deputy would have had a relationship with one of the chauffeurs of His Holiness Theodosius, and in his phone he would have seen an indecent photo of the Holiness himself.

The representatives of the Archbishopric of Tomis reacted immediately.

Eugen Tănăsescu, spokesman for the Archdiocese of Tomis: “We have serious doubts about the credibility of the information that Cristi Călin releases with reference to IPS Teodosie, while, as he himself declares in the interview, he acts out of frustration for the fact that he was excluded from monasticism and expelled from two Faculties of Theology, as a result of a behavior proven incompatible with Christian morality: more precisely, slander, unauthorized trade, illegal wearing of clerical uniform, currently he is part of a pirate church, by no means of the BOR, and he was detected in the Archdiocese of Tomis, last year , illegally collecting money in the name of the Church.”

The bishop of Tulcea, accused of having raped a young man

The revelations of the monk Cristi Calin also target the bishop of Tulcea whom he accuses of having raped a young man.

Cristi Călin, former monk: “That rape happened when this child was 15 years old, the report, I found out about it in August, I tried to collect all the evidence and filed the complaint.”

The alleged act would have happened right in the Episcopal Palace in Tulcea, and the victim would have been a seminary student in the 10th grade.

“The former monk has already filed a complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Constanța Court of Appeal. The young man told the investigators that he has a series of video and audio materials that prove all the sexual assaults. The prosecutors have not made any statement until this moment. “

The diocese of Tulcea denied all the accusations.

On the other hand, PSD announced at the end of last week, through a press release, that the deputy Aurel Bălășoiu, who started the scandal, was excluded from the party and asked to resign from Parliament.

The parliamentarian refused to resign and, citing personal reasons, took leave for the next three weeks.
