“Climate changes have direct implications on the safety and well-being of Romanian citizens”

“Climate changes have direct implications on the safety and well-being of the citizens of Romania, Europe and the whole world. The accumulation of scientific evidence about the acceleration of these changes concerns me as a citizen, as a physicist, and as a president. Stimulating the national effort to limit climate change and increase the quality of the environment is a priority for me”, Iohannis said, according to News.ro.

Iohannis: The Presidential Administration is supporting the national effort against climate change with a report

The Presidential Administration supports the national effort to respond to climate change with the report “Limiting climate change and its impact: an integrated approach for Romania”, launched on September 8 and currently under public debate. I am glad that the discussions to identify concrete solutions continue these days in society, within your event”, said Iohannis.

“I congratulate the organizers for the initiative to bring experts from the country and abroad to Bucharest, to debate and explore solutions in order to limit climate change and promote the circular economy, sustainable food production systems and the resilience of cities, in the context of changes all more accelerated of the climate. I am convinced that, during the event, which is shaping up to be a reference in Central and Eastern Europe, you will also address the specific challenges of this region in the climate transition”, added the president.

The message was presented by Alexandra-Maria Bocşe, state councilor in the Department of Climate and Sustainability.
