Between July 22-25, Mures firefighters were called upon for 242 interventions, including: 29 fires, one road accident, ten other emergency situations and 202 SMURD interventions.

“Friday, July 22, around 12:59 p.m., a fire broke out in a wheat field in the town of Sântioana de Mureș, Main Street. Military firefighters from the Târgu Mureș Fire Department intervened to put out the fire. Probable cause of the fire – open fire in open spaces.
Friday, July 22, around 1:30 p.m., warehouse fire in Band township. As a result of the fire, the warehouse, on an area of approximately 60 square meters, was completely burnt. Military firefighters from the Târgu Mureș Fire Department intervened to extinguish the fire and apply protective measures against its spread. Probable cause of the fire – open fire in open spaces.
Also on Friday, around 15:07, a fire broke out in an agricultural machine (baling combine), in the city of Miercurea Nirajului, Sântandrei street. As a result of the fire, 85% of the machine’s cabin and engine compartment burned. Military firefighters from the Miercurea Nirajului Fire Station intervened to extinguish the fire. The probable cause of the fire – short circuit in the electrical installation.
On Saturday, July 23, at around 12:58 p.m., a fire broke out at the level of two residential houses and an outbuilding in the town of Dumbrava, Main Street. As a result of the fire, 60 square meters of the stable/outbuilding, 60 square meters of the floor of one of the buildings and 70 square meters of the roof of the other burned. 3 pigs were rescued from the path of the fire, evacuated from the burnt household annex. Firefighters from the Reghin Detachment, Deda Work Station and SVSU Deda, Rusii Munți and Vătava intervened to extinguish and limit the spread of the fire. Probable cause of fire – reflected solar radiation.
Also on Saturday, July 23, at around 9:00 p.m., an agricultural machine/tractor fire occurred in the town of Beica de Jos, Main street. As a result of the fire, combustible elements burned in the tractor, in the passenger compartment and in the engine compartment area. Military firefighters from the Reghin Detachment intervened to extinguish the fire. Probable cause of the fire – electrical short circuit.
Sunday, July 24, at around 5:40 p.m., a fire broke out at the level of a household annex in the town of Vânători, Main street. As a result of the fire, the household annex with an area of approximately 20 square meters burned down. Action was taken initially to evacuate the animals from the annex, and later to extinguish the fire. No human or animal casualties resulted. The military firefighters from the Sighisoara Detachment intervened. Probable cause of the fire – electrical short circuit.
Also on Sunday, July 24, at around 5:50 p.m., fire in the outhouse where wood was stored, in the town of Dumbrăvioara, Main street. As a result of the fire, the household annex and the stored wooden material, on an area of approximately 20 square meters, burned. Military firefighters from the Târgu Mureș Fire Department intervened.
On the night of Monday, July 25, around 02:29, fire animal shelter/outbuilding in the town of Tăureni. As a result of the fire, a bird shelter with an area of approximately 5 square meters was burnt. There were no casualties. The military firefighters from the Luduș Work Point and the Sărmașu Fire Department intervened. Probable cause of fire – cigarette left unattended.
Also, between July 22-25, 21 fires occurred in Mureș County as a result of the burning of stubble and dry vegetation. As a result of the fires, a total area of 72 hectares was affected.
Road accident
“Yesterday, July 24, around 00:52, a road accident occurred in the town of Adămuş, Main street. It was about a single car that left the roadway, hitting an electricity pole on the same side of the road. As a result of the accident, there were two code green victims, medically assisted on the spot by SMURD crews. Military firefighters from the Târnăveni Detachment intervened to ensure specific fire prevention and extinguishing measures,” the Press Office of the Emergency Situations Inspectorate (ISU) also reported.
