Farul Constanța wants to continue the series of victories in the Romanian Cup

In a game from Group C of the Romanian Football Cup, on Tuesday afternoon, Farul Constanța (leader of the Superliga) will meet CSM Alexandria (leader of the 6th series of the 3rd League) at Turnu Măgurele.

The match will start at 15:30 and will be live on Digi Sport 1.

CSM Alexandria – Constanța Lighthouse

Tuesday, October 18, 15:30 – LIVE TV – “Municipal” Turnu Măgurele Stadium

The most unbalanced duel in theory, between one of the two representatives of League 3 in the Cup groups and the current leader in League 1. The Teleormanians are waiting like a celebration for the duel with Hagi’s formation, but also with a lot of courage, being leaders in Series 6 of echelon three.

Farul is also thinking about Friday’s championship derby, with Rapid in Giulesti, and the technical manager will have the opportunity to see other youngsters brought up at the Hagi Academy at work in the Cup match.

Between October 18-21, the first of the three stages of the Group Phase in the Romanian Betano Cup, the competition reinvented this year, will take place.

Starting with this edition, the new format proposes an attractive group phase, which is played according to the following coordinates:

24 teams were divided by lot into 4 groups of 6 teams each (two teams from each value urn, three in number).

All teams play, in groups, a match with a team from value urns 1, 2 and 3, played on the grounds of the lower ranked teams last season.

The top two teams in each group qualify for the quarter-finals. The winners of the groups will play the quarter-final matches at home.

STAGE I PROGRAM

11 of the 12 games scheduled in the first stage will be broadcast LIVE on TV (DigiSport, PrimaSport, OrangeSport) and FRF.TV

GROUP A

Dinamo Bucharest – U Craiova 1948

Tuesday, October 18, 21:00 – LIVE TV and FRF.TV – “Marin Anastasovici” Giurgiu Stadium

After 4 consecutive matches without defeat, one in the Cup and three in the championship, Dinamo is approaching the play-off zone in League 2. It receives the visit of the team that ended the mandate of Marius Croitoru without the desired shock, losing the last stage of L1 in Botoșani, 0-1. Great rivalry between the “dogs” and Olteni, separated at the time of the confrontation by an echelon!

Unirea Slobozia – FC Voluntari

Wednesday, October 19, 15:00 – “1 Mai” Slobozia Stadium

A match full of the unexpected, between a very good line-up from L2, prepared by Costel Enache, and Ilfoven, who are undefeated in 5 games in the championship, including trips to FC Argeș, Universitatea Craiova and FCSB! Will the people from Ialomi get 3 big points and attack the qualification in the quarter-finals, for a historic performance?

Petrolul Ploiesti – Sepsi Sf. Gheorghe

Thursday, October 20, 18:15 – LIVE TV – “Ilie Oană” Stadium Ploiesti

In the 3rd stage of L1 there was a draw in Ploiești, 1-1 between Petrolul and Sepsi, but the form of the two teams has changed a lot in the meantime. The Prahoven players come after three consecutive defeats, while the Covas players, although defeated in the last round, recently managed a 7-0 story against FC Botoșani! A balanced and tense match is announced!

GROUP B

Gloria Buzău – FC Botoşani

Wednesday, October 19, 15:30 – LIVE TV – “Gloria” Buzau Stadium

Two oscillating formations lately, with contradictory results in the championship, but separated, after all, by a value echelon. A tense match is announced with a hard-to-predict result, as long as a victory for the hosts can mean, in the format with only 3 matches played per team in the group, a major advance towards qualification!

UTA Arad – FCSB

Wednesday, October 19, 21:00 – LIVE TV and FRF.TV – “Francisc Neuman” Stadium Arad

After 2-1 for Bucharest on Sunday, but on home ground, it remains to be seen to what extent Nicolae Dică will manage the team to a victory in Arad as well. This is because FCSB is engaged both in the championship and in the Conference League, and UTA certainly wants much more from the game now, after the defeat in the Capital!

Galati Steel – CS Mioveni

Thursday, October 20, 15:00 – LIVE FRF.TV – “Oțelul” Galati Stadium

After the first defeat of this season by L2, although newly promoted, the Steel can really test their status and value in front of a first-echelon team. Dorinel Munteanu’s boys have important aspirations and the glory period of the Galatians can even start again with a qualification in the quarter-finals of the Romanian Betano Cup! But, let’s not forget, Mioveni was in recent years one of the most interesting formations in the Cup!

GROUP C

CSC Dumbrăvița – Rapid Bucharest

Tuesday, October 18, 18:15 – LIVE TV and FRF.TV – “Rapid Giulești” Stadium Bucharest

With 4 wins out of 10 matches in the championship, the team from Timișoara received praise from several opponents for the brave project with which they attack League 2 for the first time. It remains to be seen if they will also be able to surprise Giulesti, in front of one of the top teams of the first echelon, last time winner of the Romanian Cup in 2007!

Cluj University – CFR 1907 Cluj

Thursday, October 20, 21:00 – LIVE TV – Cluj-Napoca “Cluj Arena” Stadium

Huge rivalry, duel of the galleries, a city that will experience 100% football in the first stage of the Romanian Betano Cup! Eugen Neagoe is gradually consolidating a rigorous formation, Dan Petrescu’s CFR is gearing up with excellent results in the Conference League as well, so who can make a prediction in a genuine derby?

GROUP D

CS Ocna Mureș – Chindia Târgoviște

Wednesday, October 19, 15:00 – LIVE FRF.TV – “Soda” Ocna Mureș Stadium

With former striker Dan Roman on the bench, the formation from Alba is a revelation of the edition, representing L3 in the Cup groups alongside CSM Alexandria. Tough duel, with an L1 team that was reborn under the command of Toni Petrea and has 4 consecutive victories, three in the championship and one in the Cup!

FC Hermannstadt – Craiova University

Wednesday, October 19, 18:15 – LIVE TV – “Gaz Metan” Mediaș Stadium

League 1 duel in the Romanian Betano Cup, the two teams also met at the beginning of last month in the championship, when the Sibiu won 1-0! Unexpected perhaps when comparing the value of the lots and the aspirations, but predictable if we consider the status of the revelation that Hermannstadt held at least until a few stages ago.

Minaur Baia Mare – FC Argeș

Thursday, October 20, 15:30 – LIVE TV – “Viorel Mateianu” Stadium Baia Mare

The people of Pitesti travel almost 500 kilometers for a traditional match of Romanian football, in which the hosts from L2 are prepared to produce an important result. Newly promoted to the second echelon, Minaur will however face a team that benefits from a much superior team numerically and, at least in theory, also in terms of value.
