Cluj International Airport announces the launch of regular flights to Budapest (Hungary), a destination that will be operated by the new airline AirConnect, starting from October 15, 2022, with 2 weekly frequencies, every Tuesday and Saturday.
Flights to Budapest will be operated by the airline with ATR 72-600 aircraft, as follows:

The first flights to Budapest were operated from Cluj International Airport in 1998, and later they were operated intermittently until 2018. After a break of approximately 4 years, the traditional flights to the Hungarian capital are back in operation from the airport Cluj, and from there there will be multiple connection possibilities to Europe, Asia, the Middle East or North America.
Budapest, nicknamed the “Pearl of the Danube” is the capital of some of the most impressive tourist attractions in the region, be they architectural, culinary or artistic, representing one of the most beautiful European cities.
Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport is Hungary’s main airport and is located approximately 15 kilometers from the city center.

AirConnect is a new airline established in Romania by private investors, out of the desire to serve the regional market in the area. The company started operations in August 2022, offering domestic flights in Romania, connecting regional airports with nearby hubs and holiday flights (charter) directly from regional airports.
Starting from the summer season of 2023, the airline AirConnect has announced that it will expand its operations at Cluj International Airport and will operate between June 22, 2023 and September 17, 2023, including flights to Constanta, with 2 weekly frequencies, every Thursday and Sunday .
The route network of Cluj International Airport currently offers over 60 regular destinations to 19 countries in Europe and the Middle East, as well as 7 charter flights to the most important tourist destinations.
