On October 23, 2022, during the “Learn to save a life” Campaign – the 2nd edition, held in the Opera Square in Timișoara, between 1400-1700, SMURD firefighters and paramedics will ensure specific measures at the event and support educational and training activities along the lines of providing medical first aid.

In the context of the event, the Timișoara firefighters will carry out a demonstration exercise to extricate people stuck in a car, following a road accident, and the SMURD paramedics will present the correct measures for providing first aid to victims of road accidents, as well as lessons on provision of first aid for victims in cardio-respiratory arrest and/or upper airway obstruction.

For the smooth running of the mentioned events, ISU Timiș ordered some measures to prevent the occurrence of negative events that may endanger the lives and property of citizens.

Taking into account that a large influx of people is expected at these events, the firefighters recommend observing the measures to prevent emergency situations that may arise, as follows:

DO NOT use open flame in fire hazard areas.
DO NOT throw away cigarettes. It is forbidden to smoke outside specially arranged places.
DO NOT block driveways to allow emergency vehicles or access to exterior fire hydrants.
DO NOT leave children unattended.
Always follow the advice of law enforcement or event organizers to stay safe.
At the same time, we remind you that the risk of house fires has increased during this cold period. The consequences of these fires can produce both significant material damage and loss of human life.

In order to get through the cold season well this year, we recommend that you observe the following measures that will keep you and your loved ones safe:

Avoid improvisations at the level of thermal and electrical installations and carry out periodic checks of them.
DO NOT feed several electrical consumers from the same extension cord (or from the same outlet) at the same time.
Install smoke detectors to reduce the risk of falling victim to house fires.
DO NOT use flammable substances (gasoline, diesel) to light the fire.
Check the chimneys, repair them, thermally insulate them and clean them periodically.
DO NOT leave food on fire unattended.
Do not allow children to play with fire.
In the event of an emergency, call the single emergency number 112.
